Richard Weaver / Radio Presenter
Richard Weaver shows
Richard has called his show “Richard The Red” for two reasons. Red is his favourite colour and he is a passionate supporter of Manchester (The Reds) Utd. And he wouldn’t mind a red Ferrari! But then you are not likely to hear heavy metal on his Saturday show either. But you will get light-hearted jokes and snippets of his life story squeezed between a variety of music genres largely from the 50s and 60s.
Richard has no background in radio but has been on a few tv sports shows many years ago. He joined SHCR by simply knocking on the door; having a chat and before he knew it, he was on air. His choice of studio guest would have been the brilliant boxer Muhammad Ali but Richard doubts he would have got a word in once Ali started talking! Richard enjoys live music even taking his daughter to see Pink at the Spurs stadium and he has seen a number of tribute acts such as ELO, Roy Orbison, Neil Diamond and Johnny Cash. But the one performer Richard would have loved to have seen in concert was Elvis Presley for the pure range of songs.
Richards dream holiday destination would have to be Cyprus and the proof is he has holidayed there four times so far and would happily relocate there. The one guilty pleasure he will admit to is he is a bit of a choc-a-holic which is why one of his hobbies is working out at the gym. But he would argue there was nothing wrong munching on a chocolate bar while watching his favourite films Rocky or The Godfather.
