Poppy Jenkins / Radio Presenter

Poppy likes to play modern upbeat chilled out music but beneath that chilled exterior Poppy’s ears are more tuned to the indie music scene and she is waiting to see concerts by the likes of Wolf Alice, Florence & The Machine and Arlo Parks.

Poppy would like to be able to talk in greater depth on films and so high on her list of guests she would like on her show would be a renowned film critic to see how a professional film critic approaches reviewing a film.

Poppy has been with SHCR since 2019 shortly after her seventeenth birthday but even at that tender age she was already a radio veteran having been with the Eagle Radio Media Academy since she was sixteen. So it was only a matter of time before she was beating a welcome path to SHCR and bagging her own show.

Apart from being a massive radio fan from a very young age Poppy is quite a talented musician playing both clarinet and the drums (her preferred choice). One of her favourite drummers is the session and touring drummer Sarah Jones and at a recent Harry Stiles concert Poppy’s eyes were focussed mainly on Sarah Jones’ drumming rather than the man himself.

When it comes to holiday destinations as far as Poppy is concerned it has to be New York for the atmosphere, the restaurants and the coffee houses followed by a road trip up to Canada.
