Nicci Samson / Radio Presenter

Nicci is a great fan of the boy bands but he will also play anything that catches his ear. His route to the radio almost follows the “a man walked into a pub” joke to the extent a fellow presenter was in his regular pub talking to Nicci’s mother who floated the idea of presenting to Nicci who got hooked.

He would like to get his favourite actor Max Bowden onto his show. Being a fan of Eastenders, Nicci would jump at the chance to explore how Max approached playing the character Ben Mitchell as Nicci thinks the character is complex and misunderstood. But Nicci also admired his roles in Waterloo Road and is pleased to see him taking on challenging roles in the theatre such as Birdsong.

When it comes to live music there are a number of iconic performers Nicci would love to see or to have seen such as Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Bowie, Kylie and naturally boyband superstars Robbie Williams and Ronan Keating.

Nicci would love to master the piano. He owns a keyboard but online lessons don’t cut it admitting that he needs the discipline of one to one teaching.

When it comes to holidays Nicci likes to keep it simple – somewhere warm with a beach and plenty to do, with a pizza bar near by. Any pizza even topped with pineapple but definitely mushroom free! And of course a proper Coca Cola. Then in the evening any of the Deadpool, X-Men or Venom films. If he does not have enough time for a film then any episode of Frasier would do as the idea of the main character also being a radio DJ where things occasionally go wrong is particularly appealing.
