Mark O’Reilly / Radio Presenter

Mark is a co-presenter of the show which not only covers a broad range of music but also includes a range of other features including the occasional quiz; music built around all kinds of themes, the occasional interview and gimmicks (try “the reverse playlist”) and not forgetting some great chat with his fellow presenter James Fieldus.

However Mark would say that his real music love is for 1970s and 1980s rock music and would count Madness as one of his favourite bands.

Mark has been a presenter on SHCR since October 2021 and prior to that he had been a presenter on Radio Woking for about 18 months.

Mark does not have famous guests on this show but he admits that one of his favourite tv shows is “Fools And Horses” and so if he were to have the opportunity of a famous guest on his show it would have to be David Jason. However, Mark also says that his favourite film is “Back To The Future” but he realises that only in his wildest dreams would he get the chance of an interview with Michael J Fox!

When it comes to dreaming of holidays Mark is very clear that his dream would be travelling to Australia, sitting on a beach, then a long train ride across the Outback to watch the Australian Open.

Much as Mark loves his music, he has not really had the chance to get to many live concerts but if he had the chance to see one artist live in concert, he says it would have to be Jimi Hendrix.   Not just because he was such a showman and brilliant guitarist but he was ahead of his time.
