Lee Roake / Radio Presenter
Lee hosts the Feel Good Show and the driving force is Lee’s wish to generate a really positive vibe through a mix of chat and music leaving his audience feeling good about themselves. Being visually impaired since birth, music has played a big part in Lee’s life experiences because music can create visual images in one’s mind. Lee’s musical tastes and influences come from family and friends which means a mix of old and new and across many genres. His ideal studio guests would be Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, or Olivia Rodrigo.
A chance meeting with fellow presenter Jon Andrews led Lee to SHCR. Lee had received a Coronation Championship award for his fund raising ventures for Sight For Surrey and was invited to share this news in a special interview on the Sunny Sessions Radio Show. This led to an invitation to the studio resulting in this show which went live in 2023.
In addition to working with Sight For Surrey Lee works with two other charities (RSBC and VICTA) both involved with visually impaired children and young adults. So although Lee had no radio experience prior to SHCR he has experience on the other side of the mic being interviewed about his involvement with the charities.
Lee likes his concerts and a couple of his best were the 2023 Capital Radio’s festival Summer Time Ball held at Wembley and the BBC Children In Need: Out Out concert. He regrets never seeing Oasis but he would jump at the chance to see Coldplay or Taylor Swift. Lee used to enjoy horse riding and he enjoyed playing guitar piano and drums at school.
