Chris Stagg / Radio Presenter / Studio Maintenance

Chris is one of SHCR’s veteran presenters having been involved with the station at the start in 2014. Chris has lived in Surrey for a good many years. Born in Lincoln he moved to Sheffield and then found himself in Surrey.

Chris has music running through his veins. By day he works for one of the high street banks but at the weekend he sheds his work-gear for his love of music to take over. He will often be found in Leatherhead Parish Church, either playing drums in the band there, or using skills gained as a radio Presenter to operate their sound desk.

Anyone who knows Chris will be aware of his passion for live music and no venue is too small or too large depending on who is on stage and he may well be there possibly hoping for an interview which he can use in one of his shows. And he can often be found at the Ashtead cd fair hunting for albums of live recordings which he can use in his shows.

Because that is what makes Chris’ show unique. Not for nothing is his show called “In Concert” because he only plays live recordings irrespective who the artist might be and because his show is all about live music he does not focus on any specific genre. This means that in any show could include the Sex Pistols and The Bay City Rollers.

He was also instrumental in helping establish our regular TRANSMISSION radio show, that entirely profiles unsigned artists. As well as launching his Punkified Show, fast gaining a good reputation in that genre.

Asked how he would relax Chris says that his dream holiday would be a long scenic railway journey relaxing with a book. Although knowing Chris the book would be music related and he would no doubt have a set of headphones plugged into a playlist of music somewhere on his person as he plans his next show.
