Charlie Gurr / Radio Presenter

Charlie presents the “Surrey Chills” radio show with fellow presenter and one of his best friends, Poppy. Listeners can expect (reasonably) chilled out music and because Charlie loves playing the piano it is hardly surprising, he enjoys music with strong instrumentals from musicians such as Ed Sheeran, Bastille and Lewis Capaldi and the classical pianist and composer Lodovico Einaudi.  But Charlie is a bit of a one man band as he also plays guitar and drums.

Despite his musical choices however if he had to have a guest on his show it would be the football Youtuber ChrisMD who Charlie has followed since school days. He has even appeared in one of ChrisMD’s videos. But Charlie does not just follow sport from the comfort of a sofa. He is a keen footballer and tennis player.

Charlie has been a presenter on SHCR since 2019 making his first appearance on a Surrey Chills Christmas Special. But he is no stranger to broadcasting as he is currently doing a journalism degree at Kent Uni which includes getting behind the mic experience. So it is hardly surprising, he sounds like a natural.

Charlies’ other interests include reading (the Alex Rider series) and cooking which unfortunately does not stretch to breakfasts because he likes eating dry breakfast cereal straight from the bowl.

Any travel plans for Charlie would have to include both New York and Scranton Pennsylvania as these are homes to two of Charlie’s favourite tv programmes – The Office and Brooklyn 99.
