Carol / Radio Presenter / Studio Maintenance
Carol shows
Carol fell into a radio show by accident. She saw a post on SHCR and thought it was for voluntary work in the café and after visiting the studio, she came away with her own weekly show. In fact her only experience behind a mic was making the on board announcements when she worked as a member of an airlines cabin crew.
Now retired she has added a few extra strings to her bow by becoming a trained florist as well as doing courses in upholstery and furniture decoupage.
In her wilder days she was very much a punk and going to concerts by the likes of The Clash, The Damned and Siouxsie & The Banshees. However her musical tastes have now broadened out to include Rock (Stones, Led Zep, Mott The Hoople); Motown, Soul, and Jazz (Herbie Hancock, Roy Ayres) and Reggae all of which are likely to feature in her weekly show. Carol is also partial to musicals rating “Tina” and “Phantom Of The Opera” as her favourites. Although when it comes to films, she likes the Guy Ritchie and James Bond action films
Carol loves to go walking on the Downs and can think of nothing better than putting on her walking boots, picking up her hip flask (we won’t ask what’s in it) and heading out with her dog Elsie. On the bucket list is to go walking in the west coast of Ireland and the Scottish Islands.
She is also a bit of a rugby fan and always looks forward to the 6 Nations.
