Cam De La Huerta / Radio Presenter
Cam De La Huerta shows
Cam has been hooked by music since he was six even taking his record player apart to see how it worked. His first musical influences came through his mother listening to Sixties music on Radio 2. He then moved on to his own era of 80s and 90s music. At sixteen Cam was DJ-ing was at house parties; by 18 he was DJ-ing in bars and well into the rave scene. In 1995, Cam had a show on a community station in Croydon. Cam was the resident DJ at the university in Farnham where he studied.
Cam’s other obsessions is magic. In Las Vegas for a birthday celebration he saw the magician David Copperfield and got picked to help out on stage. No surprise then, that he would have loved to have had Houdini as a guest in the studio.
Cam was a concert goer seeing the likes of Prince, Michael Jackson and Sting. The Prince concert was his best ever. He is very keen that performers are able to create on stage what appears albums. But one singer he would have loved to have seen in concert would have been Frank Sinatra. Nowadays Cam prefers comedy shows.
Despite Cam’s love of music and although he has tried as many music instruments as he can get his hands on, he has not mastered any of them but he harbours an ambition one day to plug in an electric guitar.
Cam’s ideal holiday would be a prolonged journey along Route 66. Cam’s favourite film is To Kill A Mockingbird. He even named his son Atticus after the lawyer in the book. Two of his hobbies are tennis and collecting vintage toys (Super Heroes, Star Wars Ghostbusters etc).
Cam presents Sunday Sessions with his university mate Ian. Together they make a great double act with Cam fizzing with energy balanced by Ian’s dry sense of humour.
