Bingo Gravy / Radio Presenter
Bingo Gravy shows
Adam has been a presenter since September 2014 driven by the creative explosion of music styles that was the music scene between 1965 and 1974. And Adams weird and wonderful show is built around that period when a music lover could expect to hear psychedelia; prog rock; heavy rock; heavy metal; glam rock; folk rock and the British blues explosion. Adam transports you back to the world of John Peel and Whistling Bob Harris.
Given Adam’s passion and knowledge of this period it comes as no surprise to learn that if he could get one guest on his show (and play a live slot) it would be Jimi Hendricks to hear stories of the London music scene at that time.
Adam started presenting on the university radio station at Lancaster Uni and eventually joined SHCR packing his shows with music from that period plus a wealth of information. Not only does Adam talk the talk he also walks the walk having played bass guitar in a number of bands over the years. He has been on both sides of the stage both as performer and as a regular concert goer but could not name his favourite concert as there were just too many to choose from. If he could attend just one concert it would have to be Mozart in Vienna premiering a piano concerto. Adam has a very keen interest in cricket and Plymouth Argyle FC. Not only that but if you listen carefully to his show, you might just catch the sound of his guilty pleasure – munching Cheese Quavers.
Adam’s idea of an ideal holiday for would be a first class train ticket in one hand taking him around the European cities and a packet of Cheese Quavers in the other hand.
