Bellery / Radio Presenter
Bellery shows
Bellery has been with SHCR for four years after guesting on the Bingo Gravy show presented by fellow Reigate College mate Andrew Riches. When asked who to have as a guest he aimed high with the President of Ireland Michael D Higgins. Reasonable as both are passionately and directly involved with Galway Football Club and at the time were on first name terms.
Bellery’s parents introduced him to the classics of Handel, and Mozart and his aunt and uncle to the sounds of the sixties so it is hardly surprising his favourite music leans towards these musicians and especially Paul McCartney. His own voyage of discovery took him to the very different sounds of Hawkwind, The Toy Dolls and Alice Cooper. Bellery is a keen attendee at rock concerts – some like UFO were just too deafening but some from the likes of Bowie and McCartney were just unforgettably brilliant.
Theatre is a great love. Bellery’s favourite playwright is Martin McDonagh whose play “The Lieutenant Of Inishmore” is an all-time favourite. Bellery is equally at home on stage where he has performed in the theatres in Horley and Crawley.
Bellery played a range of wind instruments in his school orchestra. He also rehearsed but never performed with the Surrey Youth Orchestra but he has performed in a number of bands and even on occasion been the songwriter.
It is hardly surprising that he was able to bring these music and acting skills to the fourteen years he spent as a Morris Dancer with the Buckland Shag Morrismen until injury forced him to hang up his bells and handkerchief.
No Question. Bellery does.
