Alanah / Radio Presenter

The music that really lifts Alanah’s spirits is Reggae while the rhythms of Latin America put a smile on her face and a compulsion to dance.  Bob Marley represents the very essence of what Alanah and her show is about with lyrics like “emancipate yourself from mental slavery; none but ourselves can free our minds.”

So it’s no surprise that he would have been a most welcome guest in the studio where Alanah could explore in more detail his philosophy on life. But then Oprah Winfrey would be a most welcome stand in!

Before SHCR Alanah volunteered at one of the many hospital radio stations and enjoyed moving around the wards and being part of that hospital community. She wanted to reach out to a wider community and SHCR fitted that scenario perfectly.

Alanah loves live music and has picked up quite a CV with the likes of Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Ed Sheeran but the absolute to die for concert has to have been Michael Jacksons “Dangerous” tour. A concert Alanah would most like to have seen would have been one by Frank Sinatra.

But Alanah also loves the Comedy Club in Leicester Square. Alanah also loves to sing and is a past member of the Epsom Rock Choir when they performed live at the Everyday Hero Awards ceremony.

Past holidays have been of the exotic kind.  But now Alanah prefers the simpler pleasures of simply soaking up the atmosphere of Cuba or delving into the mysteries of Ancient Egypt. Any guilty pleasures can be summed up as sitting down to watch what she calls Trash TV while munching on a kebab smothered in mint and chilli sauce and rolled up in a nan bread (definitely no pitta!)
