Amelia Histon Allvey
Amelia is currently at London University reading Journalism, Politics and History. It was here that she started to fully appreciate radio and what it has to offer when she took a module on radio production and so she brings some very useful experience and knowledge to SHCR where she feels she can develop and expand her horizons as a presenter. Inevitably Amelia’s show is a mix of light-hearted and engaging news stories and music.
Amelia’s music preferences are towards indie, rock and the big rock anthems. In fact she is so enamoured with this music she has been inspired to learn how to play the saxophone so she can play solos like on “Baker Street” and also the electric guitar so she can learn how to play those classic riffs from bands such as Guns n Roses, The Eagles and Fleetwood Mac.
Amelia loves writing and likes to write travel articles and do travel blogs on Instagram of places she has visited. A place she can’t wait to get to and write about is Brazil during the carnival where she can also explore the iconic tourist spots. Amelia loves to go swimming and backpacking and when she feels the need for some relaxation, she indulges in another hobby of abstract painting even though her favourite painters are Picasso renowned for Cubism and the Impressionist painter Monet.
