Tom is more than fixated by music. He describes himself as “hyperfixated” and has only recently discovered the power music can have over one’s sense of wellbeing.

Tom came to SHCR to see if the station could offer any work experience but after a brief chat, he was offered the opportunity to run his own show. And he hasn’t looked back!

Having only recently discovered the overwhelming sense of wellbeing music can provide,  Toms tastes have broadened out across a wide ranging spectrum  that includes the likes of Muse, The Cure and Chappel Roan. But Tom also loves live music for the atmosphere that goes with it and concerts deserving special mention are Ghost, The Last Dinner Party, Embrace and Nothing But Thieves although he regrets not being around to have seen The Cure live. Tom does not play a musical instrument. He started on guitar before exams got in the way but hopes to pick up where he left off and possibly take up piano.

His ideal studio guest would have been the late Marsha P Johnson, the American gay liberation activist who in 1969 was actively involved in the Stonewall riots in  Greenwich Village New York.

Tom’s dream holiday would be the glitter of Las Vegas where he would follow the route taken in the game “Fallout New Vegas” and include The Strip and the Hoover Dam. And he would especially enjoy tucking into his favourite food – hash browns. Tom is very partial to his games favouring “Warhammer 40k” and “Pathfinder” but he draws a clear distinction between games and sport (a definite no no.) He is an enthusiastic fan of Doctor Who and he is pretty keen on his two dogs who occasionally accompany him to the studio.
