Prostate cancer casts a shadow over the lives of 1 in 8 men in the UK—thousands of dads, granddads, brothers, partners, and mates. Recognizing the urgency of this health challenge, our Station Manager, Dave Smith, and his wife Cathy took a bold step in September 2023.

Dave and Cathy joined Jeff Stelling’s Football March, a powerful initiative aimed at beating prostate cancer. Walking a marathon alongside hundreds of football enthusiasts, they embarked on a journey to raise both awareness and funds for this critical cause.

Exceeding Expectations: Doubling the Target, Surpassing £1300

Dave and Cathy demonstrated exceptional dedication. Not only did they reach their fundraising goal, but they doubled it, reaching the impressive sum of £1300. This achievement reflects the collective effort of the Surrey Hills Community Radio team and its supporters who rallied behind the cause.
