Community

Written by on September 1, 2023

At Surrey Hills Community Radio, we believe that a thriving community is built on the foundations of support, unity, and shared endeavours. That’s why we are deeply committed to supporting the invaluable work of groups that make Surrey Hills such a vibrant place to live.

Nurturing Future Generations: Our partnership with local schools fosters education and creativity in young minds. We showcase student talents, discuss educational issues, and provide a platform for schools, Cubs, Scouts and Guides to share their achievements.

Empowering Non-Profits: Non-profit organisations are the backbone of a compassionate community. We offer airtime and coverage to their events, fundraisers, and initiatives, ensuring their vital missions reach as many ears as possible.

Feeding the Soul: We support local food banks and initiatives aimed at eradicating hunger in our region. By raising awareness and encouraging donations, we’re working together to combat food insecurity.

Celebrating the Arts: Museums, theatres, and art groups enrich our culture, and we’re here to celebrate and promote their exhibitions, performances, and artistic endeavours.

Fostering Creativity: Drama groups and keep-fit initiatives contribute to physical and mental well-being. Our broadcasts highlight their activities, latest productions and inspire our listeners to get involved.

Local Heroes: We shine a spotlight on local fundraisers, Rotary Clubs, and Lion Clubs, showcasing the incredible work they do to uplift the community, one project at a time.

Green Initiatives: Environmental groups play a vital role in preserving our beautiful surroundings. We share their eco-conscious messages and events to encourage a greener, more sustainable future.

Also not forgetting musicians, businesses and charities that thrive in our community space.

Through our radio broadcasts, we aim to create a stronger sense of togetherness in Surrey Hills, connecting the dots between all these incredible organisations and initiatives. By amplifying their voices, we hope to inspire our listeners to get involved, support the causes they are passionate about, and ultimately, make Surrey Hills an even better place to call home. Join us in celebrating the diverse tapestry of our community and the incredible individuals and groups working tirelessly to make it flourish. Together, we can achieve greatness.
