Martin has been DJ-ing since he was sixteen which includes stints with Surrey Choices Direction Radio and Groove London Radio.
Martin came to SHCR through his connections with The Sunnybank Trust. Notwithstanding his years of experience DJ-ing he would welcome into the studio the BBC Radio presenter Scott Mills who also started DJ-ing at 16 to share their musical experiences and compare their music collection.
Martin admits to having a “massive” collection which includes his guilty secret – the Teletubbies album and single!
Martin is very influenced by all things Jamaican. His favourite concert was seeing The Wailers in 2017 and the one concert he would love to have attended would have been Bob Marley & The Wailers’ legendary 1975 concert at London’s Lyceum. And Bob Marley was Martins’ gateway into reggae. In fact Martin is so influenced by Bob Marley, Jamaica would be his holiday destination where he would walk in Bob Marley’s footsteps and explore the influences that shaped his music. And when he has boarded the plane Martin will settle down to watch his favourite film “Toy Story.”
