Leanne Tarvin / Radio Presenter

Leanne has always dreamed of being a radio presenter. She has created demos with Radio X and had a couple of sessions with Epsom Radio but she is loving being with SHCR for its community focussed ethos coupled with the creative freedom given to presenters.

The Boomtown Rats were on record as not liking Mondays. Leanne begs to differ by resetting Mondays with a two hour dose of light-hearted fun and, as she would say, a wide range of banging tunes.

Leanne has been collecting music since her teens and inevitably her music tastes crossed genres from indie and rock etc and extending into Disco, Soul and Funk. She recalls her very first record was by Debby Harry which is why she would be Leanne’s first choice guest in the studio where she could discuss the highs and lows of being such a global seventies icon.

Leanne loves her concerts and her favourite was Glastonbury seeing The Black Keys and Dolly Parton. But Leanne also fondly recalls travelling through Tuscany and stumbling upon a concert by Earth Wind and Fire and Lionel Ritchie.  If there was one singer she would love to have seen live it would have been Amy Winehouse.

Leanne would love to follow in her dad’s footsteps and play guitar. She admits to having tried many times but has yet to crack it. She does not have time to fit the guitar in between her other interests of hiking, pilates, cooking and photography. Her favourite films are anything by Tarantino or Wes Anderson.

When it comes to a choice of holiday destination Leanne would hi-tail it to Central America and Mexico for the climate, the culture and the food.
