Dementia can happen to anyone and there’s currently no cure. There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK and the number is set to rise to 1 million by 2015.
|The Mid Surrey Dementia Care Trust, Conservatory Club is a registered charitable trust, in the heart of Leatherhead. It is financed by donations from members of the public, local clubs, organisations, trusts and contributions from members.
The Club has two main aims:
They work closely with the Outreach Service of the Alzheimer’s Society, which help them assess those with memory difficulties to ensure that they will benefit from the Club.
The Club Manager, supported by at least one volunteer each day, helps members to take part in activities that they all find interesting and pleasurable, in an inviting and happy environment.
|At Alzheimer’s Society, we believe passionately that life doesn’t end when dementia begins. We are here for anyone affected by dementia, and we do everything we can to keep people with dementia connected to their lives and the people who matter most.
If you would like to support the Alzheimer’s Society please consider joining in with the Painshill Memory Walk on Sunday 13 September 2015.
