With special guest appearance by actor Jim Carter (butler from Downton Abbey) who provides a powerful reading of Siegfried Sasson’s poem, To Victory which segued into a mournful performance of the WW1 song “Hanging on the old barbed wire” which was recorded live for your listening pleasure.

I interviewed Alan Surtees, Director of Shrewsbury Folk Festival of whom Steve Knightley has been a Patron since 2011 and which is now becoming one of England’s premier folk and roots summer events.
